According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, four prisoners executed in Gohardasht Prison (Rajai Shahr).17 prisoners executed in one week.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, all four prisoners accused of murder. The names of two of them were Vahid Din Pajoh and Hamed Ahmadi.
The execution of one of them, named Hamid, previously published on government websites. The name and details of the prisoner not known.
It should be noted that at least 17 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons in the last week. The vast majority of these executions not published in the government media.
Historically, execution has been a tool of power and governance for dictators to intimidate and subdue people. The dictatorship ruling Iran using execution permanently for the past 40 years to create fear and establish its own rule. Abandoning execution and suppression means the destruction of the current oppressive government.
The death penalty is legal in Iran, and this punishment is imposed in Iranian judicial rulings for certain crimes such as political crimes, murder, rape, child sexual abuse, sodomy, drug trafficking, armed robbery, kidnapping, and armed conflict. This is despite the fact that the fairness of trials in Iran has always been questionable.
