The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, which has echoed the voices of families, activists, and prisoners sentenced to death in 54 different prisons in Iran to date, once again emphasizes: We, the people, are the only supporters and shields of prisoners against the gallows.
Iranian Society for Human Rights, Tuesday, November 18, 1404 – The 95th week of the “No Execution Tuesdays” campaign continues in 54 different prisons across the country with prisoners on hunger strike. This week’s statement, remembering the victims of the November 2019 protests, states:

November 2019 protests
“Remembering the victims of the November uprising – more than 1,500 men, women, and teenagers who sacrificed themselves for freedom – the oppressed who refused to submit to humiliation and rose up against oppression and tyranny. We insist on continuing their path until the complete abolition of the death penalty and the realization of freedom and equality. As long as there is oppression and tyranny, Aban will continue.”
The statement of the 95th week of the “Tuesdays No to Executions” campaign, referring to the horrific increase in the number of executions, states:
“We call on all freedom-loving people of Iran in every city, every neighborhood, and with every means and ability, not to remain silent in the face of this horrific wave of executions and to raise their voices of protest in any form and at any level against the execution of death sentences.”

Continuation of the “No Execution Tuesdays” campaign in the 95th week in 54 different prisons
This week of the “No Execution Tuesdays” campaign, we once again emphasize our pledge to stand against the state’s machine of repression and murder, and by remembering the victims of the November uprising – more than 1,500 men, women, and adolescents who sacrificed themselves for freedom – the oppressed who refused to be humiliated and rose up against oppression and tyranny. We insist on continuing their path until the complete abolition of the death penalty and the realization of freedom and equality. As long as there is oppression and tyranny, November will continue.
We are entering the 92nd week of this campaign, when the news of the re-confirmation of the death sentences of three political prisoners in Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz (Alireza Mordasi, Farshad Etemadifar, and Masoud Jamei) once again reveals the depth of cruelty and normalization of judicial-security violence against protesters and citizens.
In the past week, a prisoner was publicly executed in a medieval manner, and the number of executions since the beginning of November has reached more than 250, a shocking statistic that shows the catastrophic dimensions of crime and repression in Iran.
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, which has echoed the voices of families, activists, and prisoners sentenced to death in 54 different prisons in Iran to date, once again emphasizes:
We, the people, are the only supporters and shields of prisoners against the gallows.
We call on all freedom-loving people of Iran in every city, every neighborhood, and with every means and ability, not to remain silent in the face of this horrific wave of executions and to raise their voices of protest in any form and at any level against the execution of death sentences.
We must rush to the aid of the families who protest every week in front of prisons and judicial institutions, with courage and sorrow, but with hope, against the execution of their loved ones. And we emphasize again that only through solidarity and collective protest can this killing machine be stopped.
