Amnesty International Khamenei should stop using death penalty

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Amnesty International announced in a statement. At least 14 of those arrested during nationwide protests in Iran are at risk of execution.

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Amnesty International announced in a statement. At least 14 of those arrested during nationwide protests in Iran are at risk of execution. Khamenei should stop using the death penalty.

Amnesty International notes that the 14 arrested protesters are Arshia Takdastan, Javad Rouhi, Mehdi Mohammadi Fard, and Ibrahim Naroui. Kambiz Khorot, Mansour Dehmardeh, Shoaib Mirbaloch Zahi, Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashmi, Saeed Yaqoubi, Mohammad Broghani, Mehdi Bahman and Manouchehr are the guests. The charge of these people is among acts that do not include intentional murder, but they are at risk of execution, which is a violation of Iran’s obligations according to international laws.

The statement continues: Judicial authorities have subjected several detainees to torture and other ill-treatment, including whipping, electric shocks, death threats, sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence.

Since December 2022, they arbitrarily executed at least four young men in connection with the protests after similar unfair trials.

Amnesty International called for an immediate halt to death sentences related to nationwide protests.

Amnesty International issued a statement about denial of massacre and the role of Iranian diplomats in 1988 massacre. And in a part of it, it has written: “The current authorities of the Islamic Republic want to use similar tactics to create a new generation of protesters and political opponents under the name of the infamous “disruptors”. deny involvement in hundreds of murders and resist calls for international investigation and accountability.”

Amnesty International also in a statement on January 27, 2023. He had called to save the lives of three tortured protesters, Arshiya Takdestan, Mehdi Mohammadifard and Javad Rouhi.
