Saeed Masouri and Gholamhossein Kolbi deprived of their right to go on leave for the past 23 years. It is on the contrary to the law but ordered by judicial authorities
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on January 9, 2024. Political prisoners Saeed Masouri and Gholamhossein Kolbi have entered their 24th year of imprisonment without a single day of leave.
Saeed Masouri and Gholamhossein Kalbi, two political prisoners, arrested on January 9, 2000, in the city of Dezful on charges of collaborating with the Mujahideen-e Khalq. They subjected to torture and interrogation in various prisons for 2 years. In 2002, Branch 6 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran sentenced both of them to death on charges of Moharebeh through collaboration with the Mujahideen. The appeals court also upheld the death sentence. Finally, after international protests, their sentence reduced to life imprisonment. They deprived of the right to have a lawyer during interrogation and trial.

Who is the political prisoner Saeed Masouri?
Gholamhossein Kalbi suffers from various illnesses due to the severity of torture during his arrest and the harsh prison conditions. He has developed hearing loss due to ear infections and lack of medical attention. Additionally, his teeth deteriorated due to torture and lack of proper nutrition during years of imprisonment. But he deprived of medical care and access to a dentist. Furthermore, he suffered from a foot disease for a long time, causing deep wounds in his fingers. Prison authorities, in order to maximize torture, have neglected his medical needs or provided delayed and insufficient medical care.

Saeed Masouri suffers from various illnesses, but the prison authorities refrain from sending him to the hospital. This situation has increased the physical pressure on him. Saeed Masouri threatened with death by interrogator Alavi (Reza Seraj, the current spokesperson of the Supreme National Security Council) after publishing a message in September 2013. In August 2016, Saeed Masouri and his fellow inmates brutally beaten and transferred to a high-security prison equipped with cameras and listening devices. He, along with other prisoners, went on a 40-day hunger strike.
Saeed Masouri has gone on hunger strike multiple times during his imprisonment, protesting against the injustices and oppression faced by prisoners. He currently held in Ward 10, Cell 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison along with several other political prisoners.
To the brave daughters of Iran, from the prison,
Saeed Masouri wrote a message in November 2022 about the participation of Iranian women in the nationwide uprising of 2022, titled “Dedicated to the brave daughters of Iran from the prison”. He wrote: “Their rights, which taken away, are not summarized only in dress and veil; this is just one of the hundreds of their rights that have been taken away. The most important right is the right to choose and freedom, because without this, no other right is obtained or used… and the Iranian woman risen for all her rights, which is freedom, freedom, and freedom.”
