According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday. Pouya Ghobadi political prisoner arrested and transferd to Ward 209 of Evin
Former political prisoner Pouya Ghobadi, 30 years old, previously detained in Tehran by security forces in April 2018 and after 4 months of interrogation and torture, he transferred to the public ward of Evin Prison.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday, March1st, 2024. Former political prisoner Pouya Ghobadi was arrested by intelligence agents and transferred to ward 209 of Evin Prison. He is currently under interrogation and torture.
The intelligence authorities have not provided any evidence for detention and the manner of the arrest of this political prisoner.
Former political prisoner Pouya Ghobadi, 30 years old, previously detained in Tehran by security forces in April 2018. And after 4 months of interrogation and torture, he transferred to the public ward of Evin Prison. In November 2019, he transferred from Evin Prison to Tehran’s Great Prison.
Trial by Judge Moghiseh
Trial of him was held in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, presided over by Judge Moghiseh. He sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment, 5 years of which are executable, for the charges of gathering and conspiring against national security, insulting the Supreme Leader, and engaging in anti-establishment propaganda.
Former political prisoner Pouya Ghobadi convicted in this branch on charges of destroying public property. And alsosupporting the Mojahedin-e Khalq organization. His lawyer requested a re-examination due to the deficiencies in the case file.
Ultimately, Pouya Ghobadi released in February 2023 and exiled to Nikshahr city in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Former political prisoner Pouya Ghobadi, born in 1992 in Songhor, graduated in electrical engineering. After serving a one-year sentence on charges of waging war against the state, in December 2021, he sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Mr. Ghobadi’s charges included “acting against national security through effective membership and collaboration with the Mojahedin-e Khalq organization of Iran,” “propaganda against the regime,” “destruction of government property,” and “conspiracy to act against the national security of the country.”
