According to a report received by the Iranian Human Rights Society, today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at one o’clock in front of Ahvaz Investigation Branch No. 12. A 65-year-old father, whose son was arrested during the recent protests, hanged himself outside the court after he was informed of the bail amount of 700 million tomans and his begging failed.

Witnesses saved 65-year-old father’s life
Fortunately, at that moment, one of the lawyers was passing by a little girl who witnessed the scene asked him for help. And with the help of a passerby who had a knife, they cut the rope and saved the father. At the same time, one of the judicial staff takes the father to the deputy prosecutor, hoping that the matter will be resolved.
This father was about sixty-five years old, and the bail order was issued by the investigator of Branch 12, named Dakhiyan.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society. After massive arrests in the recent protests, the courts have raised the bail amount very much, that’s why the families are not able to provide such amounts.
Government officials use this method to rob and empty people’s pockets.
Iran’s human rights community once again warns about the situation of detainees and their families. And he asks all human rights organizations to take immediate and practical action to stop the crime in Iran.
