Amnesty International published it’s 2022 annual report
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Tuesday, Farvardin 8, 1402, equivalent to March 28, 2023, Amnesty International published its annual report. This report has pointed to the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people and the widespread use of repression tools against the people. including shootings, arbitrary arrests, unfair trials and physical and sexual tortures by the dictatorial government in Iran.
This report refers to the widespread cases of human rights violations in Iran against protesters. And it reveals that Iran’s security institutions, in addition to using torture against protesters, have also committed other crimes to suppress protests. Among other things, the government forceses has used rape and sexual violence against 12-year-old children to crush the spirit of protest among the youth.

Amnesty International writes in the beginning of its annual report: “Iran was shaken by an unprecedented popular uprising against the Islamic Republic system. During these protests, security forces illegally fired live bullets and live ammunition to quell the protests, killing hundreds of men, women and children and injuring thousands. Also, thousands of people arbitrarily detained or unfairly tried.
Women, LGBT people and ethnic and religious minorities suffer from severe discrimination and violence. Enforced disappearances, torture, and other ill-treatment, including the deliberate denial of medical attention to prisoners, are widespread and systematic.
Cruel and inhumane punishments, including flogging, amputation and blinding, inflicted or carried out. The use of the death penalty increased, and public executions resumed. The trials remained systematically unfair.”
We remind you that in March 2023. The United Nations Human Rights Council extended the mission of the Special Rapporteur on Iran. Also, in November 2022. Human Rights Council appointed a fact-finding panel to investigate cases of human rights violations related to uprising of Iranian people.
This report writes that all independent UN experts and international observers, except for the special rapporteur, banned from entering Iran.
Amnesty International’s report alarming human rights situation in Iran.
This report adds that Iran is given a score of 25 out of 100. Which indicates the alarming human rights situation in Iran.
Iran is facing impunity for ongoing crimes against humanity in terms of extrajudicial executions and enforced disappearances. Some of those who participated in these crimes are in high government positions, including the president. Also, high walls is built around the Khavaran mass graves, where the remains of several hundred victims are believed to be buried, which has raised concerns about the security of this place.
In another section, this report deals with the violation of freedom of expression and writes: “Iranian authorities censored the media. They blocked satellite TV channels. And since September 2022 . They added Instagram and WhatsApp to the list of blocked or filtered mobile apps and social media platforms. Which included Facebook, Signal, Telegram, Twitter and YouTube.
The annual report of Amnesty International, since 1961, examines the situation of human rights in different countries of the world and the activities of this organization to defend human rights.
