Another death sentence was executed in Isfahan Central Prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on January 18, 2023, the death sentence of another prisoner was executed in Isfahan Central Prison. The name of this prisoner was Akbar Sheikh Panahi, who was executed on charges related to drugs.
He was arrested for this charge several years ago and was imprisoned in Isfahan Central Prison.
According to Hengaw website, Akbar Sheikh Panahi along with two other prisoners were taken for execution on the same day. And executed in Isfahan Central Prison.

The execution of these prisoners has not been published in any of the government websites and authorities.
Including this execution, at least 60 prisoners were executed in Iran’s prisons within a month.
According to the report prepared by the Iranian Human Rights Society on January 1, 2023, at least 623 executions were carried out in Iran’s prisons in 2022, and the death sentence of 273 prisoners was executed more than last year.

Explanation: Velayat al-Faqih is a type of religious government in which senior Islamic jurists have temporal powers.
Iran’s human rights Society warned against the rapid increase in the execution of death sentences and demands an end to these crimes.
