Border Regiment forces killed a Kolbar by direct fire.In early hours of night of Sunday, October 2, 2022. Forces of Border Regiment killed a Kolbar by ambushing them on the path of Kolbars and shooting them without warning. The murdered Kolbar was named Saman Zarei. Saman Zarei’s body is in a hospital in Baneh and not handed over to his family.

Systematic killing of Kolbarans in border areas

In 2022, killing of Kolbarans become a normal thing and also going on continuously and systematically, especially in border towns. The government armed agents shoot or harass and beat the criminals under the guise of carrying contraband. According to published statistics in the first 6 months of this year, 190 kolbars in western provinces of the country. including Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azarbaijan killed and wounded. According to statistics, 26 Kolbars killed, and 164 others were injured.

Legitimacy of the killing of Kolbars by commander of the Border Guard by announcing a ban on their movement

Prohibition of movement of Kolbarans in border strip by border guard commander of police force has legitimized their killing. Oorder to shoot without prior warning and not complying with the arrest rules has removed all legal obstacles to protect the life of Kolbaran. This command means to legalize and legitimize their killing.

With deterioration of economic conditions in the country, number of Kolbaran’s victims added daily. For most of them, this is the last and only choice. Most of them have to carry kolbari instead of their father, brother or even husbands who lost their lives in this way.
