Deteriorating Azar Kouroundi Health in Qarchak Prison

Azar Kouroundi’s health crisis in Qarchak Prison, Varamin, demands urgent action. A political prisoner, she faces severe heart issues and cancer risks. On July 7, 2025, authorities moved her to the prison infirmary. Yet, inadequate facilities threaten her life. Human rights groups call for her immediate hospital transfer.

Critical Azar Kouroundi Health Issues Ignored

Iran Human Rights Society, Monday, July 7, 2025– Azar Kouroundi suffers from blocked coronary arteries and a cancer history. Her condition worsened recently, requiring oxygen therapy. However, Qarchak’s infirmary lacks proper equipment. Sources confirm her medications are ineffective. Consequently, she urgently needs specialized care outside prison. Despite requests, authorities deny her hospital access, risking her life.

Harsh Qarchak Prison Conditions Harm Azar Kouroundi Health

Azar Kouroundi

Qarchak Prison’s unsanitary conditions worsen Azar Kouroundi’s health. Only portable plastic toilets are available. Political prisoners face tensions with others. Poor food quality and limited hygiene products harm inmates. Moreover, personal belongings are often withheld. These conditions cause physical and mental distress, amplifying her health crisis.

Azar Kouroundi’s Arrest and Unfair Trial

In 2019, security forces arrested Azar Kouroundi for family counseling sessions. Charged with “assembly and collusion” and “propaganda,” she received a five-year sentence in 2022. Her trial lacked independent counsel. After an Evin Prison attack, she was transferred to Qarchak in 2023. Her case reflects systemic judicial abuses.

Human Rights Violations in Azar Kouroundi Health Case

Azar Kouroundi’s case violates key rights:

Article 10 (UDHR): Unfair trial without independent counsel.

Article 5 (UDHR): Denying medical care is inhuman treatment.

Article 25 (UDHR): Lack of specialized care violates health rights.

Article 19 (UDHR): Charges for personal beliefs breach free expression.
These violations show a pattern of suppression, not justice.

Urgent Call to Save Azar Kouroundi’s Health

With Azar Kouroundi’s health deteriorating, activists demand action. She needs immediate hospital transfer for heart and cancer care. The UN, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch must intervene. Public support, from sharing posts to contacting officials, can save her life. Silence is not an option. Act now to protect Azar Kouroundi’s health.
