Eleven prisoners executed in Iranian prisons in a single day, including five who executed in Kerman Central Prison
According to Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. News indicated execution of eleven prisoners in Iranian prisons in a single day. On Monday, October 1, 2023, five prisoners accused of drug offenses executed in Kerman Central Prison.
We had previously reported the execution of five prisoners in Shiraz and one prisoner in Ramhormoz. According to Haalvash news, two of the prisoners executed in Kerman Central Prison were Awaz Moradi, son of Gholamhossein, and Ramadan Khorshid, son of Awaz.Both Baloch and from the city of Bam.
Both arrested six years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death in Kerman. There is no information available about the names and identities of the three other prisoners executed in Kerman Central Prison.
At least twenty-six prisoners executed in Iranian prisons during the last two weeks.
Iran is a country that uses the tool of execution to suppress its own people. Iran has the highest number of executions per capita. The death sentences are issued and executed for crimes that, according to common legal definitions in the world, are not considered as “very serious crimes” and are the result of unfair and non-compliant trials with international standards.
