"No to Execution Tuesdays" hits 91st week in Iran

“No to Execution Tuesdays” hits 91st week in Iran on October 21, 2025. Qezel Hesar prisoners’ hunger strike halts executions. Families protest nationwide. Demand life over death.

Iran Human Rights Society Tuesday, October 21, 2025- The No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign surges forward. It reaches its 91st week on October 21, 2025. This protest movement, which emerged from social protests against the death-oriented policy of the ruling dictatorship and the widespread wave of executions, has today become one of the most persistent and widespread anti-execution movements in Iran’s contemporary history.

This week, while the streets of dozens of Iranian cities were the scene of cries of “no to execution,” one of the largest mass protests in the history of the country’s prisons also took place inside the cold walls of Qezl-e-Hazar prison — a hunger strike by more than 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Qezl-e-Hazar prison, which entered its sixth day and sparked widespread repercussions in society.

Qezel Hesar Hunger Strike Ignites Nationwide Protests

The widespread hunger strike by Qezl-e-Hazar prisoners in protest against the execution of death sentences has once again focused attention on the prisons and extended the slogan “No to Executions” from behind bars to the streets. Campaign activists say that the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is no longer just a protest movement, but has become a symbol of resistance to the politics of elimination and repression.

Families and Mothers Lead the Charge in No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign

Mothers of political prisoners stand tall. They form the campaign’s backbone. From day one, they attend weekly rallies. They carry pictures of their children. In Tehran and Tabriz, they lead chants. “Do not execute! No to Execution! Execution for no one!” Their voices rise from deep pain. Women add a human touch. They speak not of politics, but suffering. Furthermore, their presence draws crowds. Students and artists join in. Social media buzzes with support. Hashtags trend worldwide. #NoToExecutionTuesdays unites them. Therefore, the movement grows ethical power. It touches hearts beyond borders.

Slogan “No to Execution Tuesdays” Echoes Through Iranian Society

The cry “No to Execution” breaks free. It spreads from prisons to public squares. Universities host debates. Workers whisper it in factories. Artists paint it on walls. Athletes dedicate wins to it. Social networks explode with videos. Protests hit Karaj, Rasht, and Bandar Abbas. Analysts compare it to global abolition fights. They see it as war on death culture. The regime’s violence fuels it. However, solidarity strengthens resolve. Inside Qezel Hesar, prisoners risk all. Outside, people march boldly. These form one body. Voices inside shout with lives. Streets echo back fiercely. Thus, change brews in society.

Regime’s Intimidation Fails Against Prison Strike and Protests

The government fights back hard. It deploys threats and cuts. In Qezel Hesar, agents jam phones. They limit family calls. Water supplies halt briefly. Guards beat resisters. Yet, prisoners unite. They demand fair reviews. Officials visit on October 18. They yield slightly. Scheduled executions pause. Judicial pledges emerge. Drug laws face scrutiny. However, families doubt the words. Past lies haunt them. Protests swell despite risks. Security forces clash with crowds. Arrests follow rallies. Still, the wave expands. The campaign vows persistence. It calls for full abolition. Therefore, intimidation backfires.

Human Rights Violations Fuel the No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign

Executions ravage rights daily. Reports pile up from prisons. Article 3 of the Universal Declaration suffers first. Everyone claims right to life and security. Iran’s policy crushes it. Hangings strip liberty without mercy. Furthermore, Article 5 crumbles. No one endures torture or cruel acts. Yet, beatings force confessions. Threats scar minds. Inhumane cells break spirits. Article 10 demands fair trials too. Independent courts must hear cases publicly. But Iran’s courts rush verdicts. Lawyers vanish from defenses. Minutes seal fates. These breaches scream for action. Activists link them to the strike. The campaign exposes them all.

Voices of Change: From Qezel Hesar to Iran’s Streets

The No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign evolves. It shifts from protest to beacon. Qezel Hesar’s sewn lips inspire. Mothers’ Tehran slogans resonate. Tabriz crowds amplify the call. A message rings clear: “Life is our right, not death.” Prisoners’ defiance sparks hope. Families’ endurance steels wills. Society awakens to injustice.
