After a few days of not knowing, the lives of Fazel and Mehran Bahramian are in danger in Dastgerd prison of Isfahan
According to the Iran Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Fazel and Mehran Bahramian are currently in solitary cell in Isfahan’s Dastgerd prison, facing the threat of execution. According to an informed source, these two prisoners have had no contact with their families for four days and their families are in ignorance and anxiety about the latest situation of their loved ones.
On January 29, 2024, Fazel and Mehran Bahramian, who sentenced to death for “Moharebeh and acting against national security”, transferred to solitary cells in Isfahan’s Dastgerd prison. They not allowed to contact or visit their families. On the same day, the families of the two political prisoners summoned and threatened not to protest anything and not to media the news related to their children.
Today, Wednesday, January 31, is the second day that the people of Samirom have gone on strike in protest of the death sentence. And transfer of these two prisoners and have not opened their shops.
Fazel and Mehran Bahramian arrested in 2022.
Fazel Bahramian, born in 1989, married with a two-year-old son, is a mechanic and had a car repair shop before arrested. He is the brother of Morad Bahramian, a martyr of the freedom path, who killed by security forces in the nationwide uprising in 2022.
Mehran Bahramian, born in 1993, is single. His father has passed away and Mehran is the head of the family.
During the nationwide uprising in 2022. On November 16, security forces shot and killed Ali Abbasi, Morad Bahramian, Muslem Houshangi and Milad Asefi. On December 31, 2022, during the nationwide uprising, security forces arrested Fazel Bahramian in his private home in Samirom. He severely tortured.
In the same month, Mehran Bahramian also arrested. Fazel and Mehran Bahramian transferred to solitary cells of the Intelligence Department in Isfahan. This is located in Dolatabad, 10 days after their arrest. They then transferred to the Alpha cells in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan.
Fazel and Mehran Bahramian severely tortured, so much so that Mehran Bahramian’s teeth broke and his eardrum ruptured. Fazel Bahramian also injured in the head and face during interrogation and torture.
On January 25, 2024, the Samirom Court of Appeal confirmed the death sentence of Fazel and Mehran Bahramian. He previously sentenced to death for “Moharebeh and acting against national security”.
