Yalda Emamdoust, Iranian endurance runner and former political prisoner, vanishes after August 2025 arrest in Isfahan. Family seeks updates on her health and location amid rights abuses.

Iran Human Rights Society, Monday, October 13, 2025 – Security forces detained in mid-August 2025. This endurance running champion and mother of two now faces enforced disappearance in Isfahan. Families and activists demand answers. Her case exposes Iran’s crackdown on women protesters. However, no updates emerge after two months. Read on for her story and calls for justice.

Detention Without Official Notification

Yalda Emamdoust

Security agents raided Yalda Emamdoust’s home in mid-August 2025. They arrested her without warning. Born in 1975 in Ilam, she lives in Isfahan. Now, she endures complete isolation. Furthermore, no security or judicial body claims responsibility. Her family searches in vain. They do not know her transfer spot. This secrecy heightens fears. Therefore, relatives suspect hidden facilities. They urge quick transparency.

Sports Background and Social Activities

Yalda Emamdoust excels as an endurance running champion in Isfahan Province. She joined several provincial races before her arrest. She won championship titles repeatedly. However, her sharp criticism of the regime sparked trouble. She engaged in political protests actively. Consequently, authorities targeted her often. Her athletic drive motivates others. Yet, silence now overshadows her successes.

Previous Detention Records

Agents first grabbed Yalda Emamdoust in 2019. She had scrawled protest slogans on walls. Interrogators released her after months. Then, on June 1, 2020, they seized her again. Guards locked her in solitary at Dolatabad Prison in Isfahan for two months. They questioned her harshly. Later, officials shifted her to Dastgerd Prison’s women’s section. The Revolutionary Court in Isfahan issued a verdict. Judges gave her ten years for “assembly and collusion” and “propaganda against the regime.” Still, she showed great strength.

Inhumane Treatment During Imprisonment

Family sources report severe abuse for Yalda Emamdoust in 2020. Guards beat her physically. They tormented her mentally too. Moreover, they blocked family contacts for months. Relatives say her husband, tied to intelligence, betrayed her. He pinpointed her spot and alerted forces. This act worsened her pain. She faced threats and isolation. Many break under such strain. However, she fought back bravely. These scars linger deeply.

Continued Isolation and Family Concerns

More than sixty days elapse since her latest arrest. Yalda Emamdoust’s family gets no news on her health. They ignore her detention site too. Officials hide the responsible agency. This void sparks deep worry. Fears rise over solitary cells or secret centers.

Families beg for clues every day. Such uncertainty hurts them greatly. Therefore, international pressure builds fast.

Violation of the Right to Freedom and Personal Security

Agents snatched Yalda Emamdoust without a court order. They keep her fate hidden. This act shatters basic human rights.
