According to Iranian Human Rights Center, on Thursday, August 25, 2022. On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, authorities of Marivan prison cut off phone calls of prisoner Ebrahim Khalil Sedighi Hamedani to his family. While he is on the 21st day of his hunger strike. hunger strike of this political prisoner is in protest to non-fulfillment of promise of Marivan prison authorities transfering him to Salmas prison.

According to the reliable source, the disconnection of his phone calls is to force him to give up his legal demands.

Authorities of Marivan promised this political prisoner’s father to transfer him to Salmas prison to join his son Salar Sedighi. But after a month, they still do not fulfill their promises.

Ebrahim Khalil Sedighi Hamedani’s physical condition is extremely critical

It should be noted that Ebrahim Khalil Hamedani is on hunger strike since August 2, 2022. He has been protesting the neglect and failure to fulfill promises of Marivan prison officials.
Meanwhile, he has been suffering from severe diabetes and other diseases for years and needs special care.
But the authorities of Marivan prison have transferred him to solitary cell as a punishment. Now, after 21 days of hunger strike, his physical condition is reported extremely critical.

Two political prisoners,Salar Hamedani and his father Ibrahim in January 2022, suddenly separated and transferd from Urmia to Kamyaran and Marivan .

Then, on Saturday, July 16, 2022, the prisoners of Kamyaran prison protested due to harsh conditions of the prison, water cut and no leave. For this reason, political prisoner Salar Hamdani deported to Salmas prison on charge of disrupting order and prison’s security.

Almost seven months have passed since the transfer of this father and son. Despite many promises given to both, they are still locked up in Marivan and Salmas prisons.

Iran Human Rights Center considers officials of Marivan prison and judiciary to be responsible for health of this prisoners.
