Manoochehr Fallah faces execution after Supreme Court rejects retrial for minor explosion.
Iran Human Rights Society, Friday, October 24, 2025 – Manoochehr Fallah execution hangs in the balance. This 42-year-old political prisoner faces death for minor damages during 2022 protests. His lawyer announced the Supreme Court’s rejection of his retrial on October 23, 2025. Now, urgent calls grow to stop this unfair penalty. However, Iranian authorities push forward. Furthermore, the case highlights deep flaws in Iran’s judicial system. Therefore, global activists rally against it.
Supreme Court Rejects Manoochehr Fallah’s Appeal
Manoochehr Fallah received a death sentence for 15 million toman in damages. The Supreme Court dismissed his appeal. As a result, his life teeters on the edge.
Iran Human Rights Society reported this on Friday, October 24, 2025. Lawyer Milad Panahipour shared the grim news. He stated the retrial bid failed completely. Thus, execution looms close for this detainee.

Charges Against Manoochehr Fallah Stem from 2022 Protests
Manoochehr Fallah joined the nationwide protests in 2022. Authorities arrested him then. Since June 18, 2023, he has endured Lakan Prison in Rasht.
First, judges gave him 11 months for “propaganda against the regime.” He served that time. Next, he posted 400 million toman bail. Everyone expected release. However, officials blocked it. They filed a new case instead. The charge? “Waging war against God.” This escalated everything dramatically.
Details of the Explosion and Court Ruling
Prosecutors claim Manoochehr Fallah detonated a small sound bomb. The incident occurred at 00:30 on June 1, 2023. It targeted the Gilan Judiciary’s entrance door.
Experts assessed the blast. They found only minor harm. The iron door and stone facade suffered 15 million toman in damage. Importantly, no injuries happened. Yet, the primary court invoked Article 687 of the Islamic Penal Code. Judges labeled it “destruction to disrupt order and confront the government.” Consequently, they handed down death.
Lawyer Challenges Disproportionate Punishment
Milad Panahipour fights fiercely for his client. He stresses a key issue. “The proportionality between crime and punishment vanished entirely,” he says. “No proof shows serious harm or public security threats. Therefore, death for a small blast with no casualties screams injustice.”
Moreover, Panahipour slams the trial’s opacity. He reveals confessions came under duress. Threats forced them out. Thus, the process reeks of coercion.
Harsh Prison Life for Manoochehr Fallah
Over two and a half years, isolation defines Manoochehr Fallah’s days. Visits remain rare. Prison rules crush family ties. He misses his young daughter deeply. Restrictions bar most contact.
Furthermore, Lakan Prison’s conditions worsen the toll. Deprivation builds despair. However, his spirit endures amid the cruelty. Therefore, supporters urge relief now.
Human Rights Groups Demand Halt to Execution
Widespread outrage erupts over Manoochehr Fallah’s fate. Activists and international bodies protest loudly. They decry the verdict’s lack of justice. Proportionality? It misses entirely.
These groups spotlight systemic bias. Executions like this stifle dissent. As a result, they call for immediate suspension. Furthermore, broader reforms beckon. Therefore, the world watches closely. Pressure mounts daily.
