Three political prisoners from the nationwide protests, Saleh Mirhashmi, Majid Kazemi and Saeed Yaqoubi, were executed this morning, Friday, May 19, in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, Mezan news agency of the Judiciary reported the execution of three political prisoners. The execution of Saleh Mirhashmi, Majid Kazemi and Saeed Yaqoubi, who are among the detainees of Isfahan’s nationwide protests, was carried out on the morning of Friday, May 19, 2023, in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan.
This news agency introduced them as “the perpetrators of shooting with Colts and Kalashnikovs and the killing of three members of the security forces with the intention of subversion who had direct contact with the People’s Mojahedin.”
While all the news and statements indicate that these three detainees were innocent, and all their confessions obtained under torture.
On May 17, 2023, the families of three political prisoners called on the people of Isfahan to support them and join them in preventing the execution of their children in front of Dastgerd prison.
This call received a positive response from the people. People in Ekbatan and Bagheri towns of Tehran protested against the execution of these three political prisoners with slogans of death to the dictator and death to the executed republic. A group of people from Isfahan also went in front of Dastgerd prison in Isfahan in the last hours of Wednesday evening and joined the families of three prisoners sentenced to death.
After this public support, the judicial system officially announced in Mizan News Agency that they will not execute next day.

Gathered in front of Dastgerd prison in Isfahan and demanded to stop the execution of their death sentences.
