Clear Human Rights Violations in Siamak Amini's Case

Siamak Amini, political prisoner in Evin Prison, suffers medical deprivation. He battles Behçet’s disease without treatment, facing deliberate indifference.

Iran Human Rights Society, Monday, November 10, 2025 – Siamak Amini medical deprivation continues relentlessly in Evin Prison. This political prisoner battles a severe autoimmune disease. Prison officials deliberately deny him essential treatment. His family sounds the alarm as his health rapidly declines.

Behçet’s Disease Threatens Siamak Amini’s Life

Siamak Amini suffers from Behçet’s disease for years. This autoimmune condition attacks eyes, joints, and the immune system. He requires monthly drug injections immediately. Additionally, he needs special shots for osteoporosis. However, Evin Prison authorities block his hospital transfer. They prevent specialized tests completely. Informed sources confirm this action follows a cruel policy. Officials aim to break political prisoners through physical suffering.

Family Reveals Critical Health Crisis

Political Prisoner Siamak Amini

Siamak Amini’s family reports his condition turns critical fast. Without periodic injections, he risks severe complications. Prison doctors once confirmed the urgent need for specialized care. Yet, officials obstruct everything. They hide behind “security confirmation” excuses. The family sent multiple letters to Tehran’s Prosecutor’s Office. They contacted the prison oversight deputy too. No one responds. Furthermore, relatives call this systematic harassment. They label it white torture plainly.

Who Is Political Prisoner Siamak Amini?

Siamak Amini entered the world in 1962 in Tehran. He became a political prisoner in the 1980s. Authorities jailed him from March 1984 until 1989. Security agencies watched him constantly after release. In August 2024, they rearrested him. He now serves three years and six months in Evin Prison. Charges include assembly and collusion against national security. They also added propaganda against the system. Judge Iman Afshari led Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court. The verdict bans him from groups for two years. It prohibits smartphone use and leaving Iran too.

Judicial Authorities Ignore Medical Recommendations

The Forensic Medicine Organization demanded sentence suspension earlier. They cited his serious health issues clearly. Judicial officials ignored the advice completely. Moreover, they block all treatment access. Siamak Amini requests permission repeatedly. He approaches prison officials and the prosecutor’s office. They respond with indifference or threats only.

Human Rights Activists Condemn the Pattern

Human rights activists highlight a widespread pattern. Sick political prisoners face extra punishment. Officials use medical deprivation as a weapon. They add psychological pressure constantly. Therefore, Siamak Amini’s case exposes systematic violations in Iran. Illness becomes a tool for pressure and secondary punishment.

Clear Human Rights Violations in Siamak Amini’s Case

Authorities violate multiple universal rights directly. They threaten his life through deliberate indifference. Refusal of treatment endangers him gravely.

  • § Right to life and health (Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights): Refusal of treatment and deliberate indifference to the critical physical condition is a direct threat to his life.
  • § Prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment (Article 5): Deprivation of medical treatment for a chronic patient is a hidden form of white torture.
  • § Right to access medical services (Article 25): Preventing transfer to hospital and receiving medication is a clear violation of the right to enjoy medical services.
  • § Right to fair trial (Article 10): Issuing heavy sentences without access to an independent lawyer and transparent judicial process is another example of systematic injustice.
