Executions in Iran Prisons: 14 Deaths in Kermanshah, Yasuj, and Beyond – Human Rights Violations Exposed

Alarming 14 executions in Iranian prisons on Oct 14-15, 2024, raise Iranian calendar month Mehr total to 180. Violations of UDHR Article 3 demand global action against death penalty abuses.

Iran Human Rights Society, Tuesday, October 14, 2024- Reports reveal a grim reality. Authorities carried out 14 executions across prisons in Kermanshah, Yasuj, Gachsar, Sirjan, Khorramabad, and Rasht. Most occurred on October 15, 2024, with others on October 13 and 14. Therefore, the Mehr month total (September 23-October 14, 2024) reaches at least 180. This means over seven deaths daily—one every three hours. Such pace alarms activists. Families endure heartbreak. Moreover, secrecy shrouds details. Human rights groups demand transparency. International scrutiny grows. However, officials remain silent. Let’s detail these tragedies.

Five Lives Lost in Kermanshah’s Dizelabad Prison

Dawn on October 15, 2024, brought horror. Five prisoners died in Dizelabad Prison. Shahram Chanani led the list. Authorities arrested him eight years ago for murder. He received a death sentence. The other four identities stay hidden. Investigators seek names. However, families clamor for info. Guards enforced swiftly. No announcements followed. Therefore, this fuels outrage over executions in Iran prisons. Critics question fairness. Errors lurk in shadows.

Drug Charges Claim Three in Yasuj Prison

Same dawn struck Yasuj Prison. Three men faced the noose. Ebrahim Dolaram, 45, from Yasuj, fathered two kids. He spent five years jailed. Fateh Haghdarian, 32, from Shahrekord, entered three years prior. Allah Karam Gasemian, from Gachsar, endured five years. All tied to drugs. Courts ruled harshly. However, defenses seemed weak. Evidence raised doubts. Families grieve deeply. Moreover, harsh laws target minor offenses. These executions in Iran prisons highlight policy flaws. Reform voices rise.

Yahya Najafi Executed Alone in Gachsar

On October 14, 2024, Yahya Najafi died in Gachsar Prison. From Dasht-e Mor Gachsar, murder charges doomed him. Arrest preceded sentence. He faced isolation. Loved ones recall his struggles. Appeals failed. Guards acted decisively. Therefore, this case exemplifies solitary suffering in executions in Iran prisons. Communities demand justice.

Sirjan Prison Takes Ehsan Pourma’sumi

October 14 saw another loss. Ehsan Pourma’sumi, 45, from Sirjan, perished. Murder arrest came three years ago. Trial sealed fate. Doubts surround process. Family pleads mercy. However, haste prevailed. Executions in Iran prisons like this erode trust. Regional patterns emerge.

Khorramabad’s Triple Executions Unfold

Khorramabad witnessed three deaths. Yarhossein Nazarian died October 14 on drug charges. Earlier, on October 13, Mostafa (Jasab) Mirzaei and Ayoub Lotfian fell. Mirzaei, father of three from Deh-e Firuzvandi Chavari, faced murder rap. Lotfian, married from Sikondi Chavari, shared fate. Separate cases, same end. Transparency lacked. Families shattered. Furthermore, murders dominate statistics. Guards followed orders. Monitoring intensifies.

Rasht’s Lakan Prison Ends Mojtaba Hassanpour

October 13 claimed Mojtaba Hassanpour, 42, in Lakan Rasht. Garden guard before, drugs charged him three years eight months ago. Sentence executed. Supporters question proof. Community mourns. Therefore, northern cases add to toll in executions in Iran prisons.

Executions Defy UDHR Right to Life

Article 3 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights protects life. Everyone holds this right. Laws safeguard it. No arbitrary loss. Yet, executions in Iran prisons violate directly. They deny life fundamentally. Irreversibility blocks corrections. Methods torture cruelly. However, dignity demands better. Activists cite this often. Change beckons.

Breaches of ICCPR Fair Trial Standards

Iran signed International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Article 6 limits death penalty. Require fair trials for grave crimes. However, opacity rules many cases. Barriers hinder accused. Courts lack independence. Violations abound. Therefore, global calls urge moratoriums. Justice prevails through reform.
