Threat of imminent execution of Reza Rasaei after sending his case to execution
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Sunday, December 31, 2023. After the death sentence of Reza Rasaei, one of the detainees of the 2022 nationwide uprising confirmed, his case sent to the execution of the judgments of the Kermanshah Province.
The death sentence of political prisoner Reza Rasaei recently confirmed by the 17th branch of the Supreme Court. His death sentence issued in October of this year by the second branch of the Criminal Court of Kermanshah Province on the charge of murdering the head of the intelligence department of Sahne city.
About political prisoner Reza Rasaei
Reza Rasaei is a Kurdish citizen, 34 years old, from Yarasan and from Sahne city in Kermanshah province. On Friday, November 24, 2022, he was arrested in Karaj city on the charge of murdering Nader Bairami, the head of the intelligence organization of Sahne city. He then transferred to Kermanshah Intelligence Detention Center.
After the interrogation, he transferred to Dieselabad prison in Kermanshah. But he was arrested again for 21 days, along with a number of others. Then, they transferred from Dizilabad prison in Kermanshah to the detention center of the city’s Intelligence Department and were subjected to pressure and interrogation.
Political prisoner Reza Rasaei has repeatedly denied the accusations during court hearings. He also announced that he was tortured and threatened with rape in the detention center of the Intelligence Department and under these conditions he was forced to confess against himself.
A summary of the status of Reza Rasaei’s trials
Reza Rasaei sentenced to death by the 2nd branch of the Criminal Court of Kermanshah on the charges of “participating in the intentional murder” of Nader Bayrami, the head of the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guards in Sahne city, as well as other crimes, and was sentenced to death, payment of ransom, one year of imprisonment and 74 lashes.
It is the satisfaction of the religious minority of Iran’s supporters. During the last 4 decades, this minority has always been suppressed and arrested by the security forces.
Previously, on August 28, 2023, Reza Rasaei was transferred from Kermanshah prison to an unknown place. On that date, it was feared that he would be taken to solitary confinement to execute the death sentence. He is currently imprisoned in Dizelabad prison in Kermanshah.
