Two Baloch prisoners were executed in Zahedan and Zabul prisons. The families of the prisoners were unaware of the execution, and after the execution, they were informed to return to receive the bodies of their loved ones.
Iranian Human Rights Society quoted by Rasanak; Dawn on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Two Baloch prisoners named Qasim Salarzahi in Zahedan prison and Aziz Gargij in Zabul prison, both of them were executed on charges related to drugs.
According to this report, 40-year-old Qasim Salarzahi, the son of Hashem, is married and has three children. In 2019, he was arrested in Zahedan on drug charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
Another prisoner, Aziz Gargij known as Bidullah, 25 years old, was from Zahak. Aziz was also arrested in 2019 on drug charges in Zahak. He was sentenced to death by the Zabul Revolutionary Court headed by Judge “Babaei”.
These two prisoners were executed without notifying their families and not having a last visit. After the execution, the families of the prisoners were informed to come to receive the bodies of their loved ones.
Including the execution of these two Baloch prisoners, at least 1401 Iranians have been executed since the beginning of this year, at least 496. This is while many death sentences are carried out secretly and are not published or announced anywhere. Therefore, the actual number of executions is higher than this figure.
We remind you that the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran accused Iranian government officials of launching a new campaign to execute prisoners.
