Two prisoners were executed in Hamadan and Borazjan prisons
Iranian Human Rights Society, Wednesday, October 25, 2022. Two prisoners were executed in Hamedan and Borazjan prisons in the past few days.
A prisoner named Alireza Janipour was executed in Hamadan prison on Tuesday, October 24. And another prisoner named Mohammad Esfandiari executed on Monday, October 23 in Borazjan prison.
Execution of a prisoner in Hamadan
At dawn on Tuesday, October 25th, the death sentence of a prisoner named Alireza Janipour was executed in Hamedan prison on drug charges.
Yesterday, the family of this prisoner went to the prison for the last visit.
An informed source told the Iranian Human Rights Society: “Alireza Janipour was in prison for four years. Ten days ago, he was transferred to solitary confinement once to execute the death sentence, but he was returned to prison.”
Execution of a prisoner in Borazjan ( Two prisoners executed)
According to Harana, on Monday morning, October 24, 2022. A 25-year-old prisoner named Mohammad Esfandiari was executed in Barazjan prison on charges of murder.
In this report, quoting an informed source, it is stated: “Mohammed committed murder during a fight about 5 years ago and was arrested in Barazjan. He was finally sentenced to death by the judicial authorities. “He has been in the prison of this city since then until the execution of the sentence.”
Including execution of these two prisoners, The number of executions reached at least 390 people since the beginning of Iranian year 1401 and 486 prisoners since the beginning of 2022.
Iranian Human Rights Center warned against crimes committed in prisons. Including executions, and calls for immediate action by the United Nations Human Rights Council to stop the death sentence.
