Torture of Masoumeh Sanobari by keeping her in solitary confinement, sentenced to 9 years in solitary confinement
Political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari held in solitary confinement for 13 months by order of the judge and is tortured in this way. She sentenced to 9 years in solitary confinement, away from others.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Monday, January 15, 2024. Political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari is in solitary confinement for thirteen months and also subjected to mental torture. After issuing a 9-year prison sentence, the judge of the case stated in the case that he should spend his entire sentence in solitary confinement away from other prisoners. In this way, they torture him.
As a mother of one child, she faces restrictions even in contact with her family. Her phone call with her family reduced to three minutes and done in the presence of the intelligence officer. They don’t even allow her to get the number. An agent takes the number and hangs up if the family speaks Turkish.
Masoumeh Sanobari, a citizen of Tabriz, is one of the detainees of the 2022 nationwide protests in Karaj. She also married and the mother of a teenage daughter. On December 13, 2022, she arrested in Karaj and transferred to the Intelligence Department of this city. On Sunday, January 4, 2022, after about 40 days of interrogation, she transferred to Ward 4 of Fardis Karaj Prison (Women’s Ward of Kechui Prison). She also accused of being the leader of the demonstration.

On March 5, 2023, this political prisoner tried by Branch 1 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court for participating in actions against the country through membership in the People’s Mojahedin. Also, propaganda activity against the regime through participation in illegal gatherings, propaganda activity and writing slogans and also publishing pictures of the leaders of the People’s Mojahedin Khalq accused and condemned. And then sentenced to 90 months for one charge and also 18 months for another charge, for a total of 9 years.
Masoumeh Sanobari previously arrested on March 6, 2019 in the city of Ilkhchi Esco and transferred to Tabriz Intelligence Detention Center. She interrogated and tortured in the IRGC intelligence detention center. She was also unable to walk due to whipping. Due to the blows to the head, her vision also blurred and her leg cracked. In August 2019, she released on bail of 600 million tomans until the court hearing.
Masoumeh Sanobari again arrested on 5 February 2020, without a prior summons, from her sister’s house. And transferred to the IRGC intelligence detention center in Tabriz. She released from prison in 2021.
In October 2020, Masoumeh Sanobari infected with the corona virus after female prisoners in the central prison of Tabriz infected with the virus and they were not quarantined. In addition, she severely tortured and pressured after her arrest in Tabriz.
