According to the Human Rights Society of Iran, on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Shahin Vasaf, one of the detainees of the nationwide protests in 2022, sentenced to death in Urmia Central Prison.
Shahin Vasaf, 27, from Salmas, arrested on September 21, 2022, during a raid by the intelligence forces of the Revolutionary Guards on a private residence, along with Naser Vasaf, during the nationwide protests in the city of Urmia.
After his arrest, he transferred to the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence detention center in Urmia and underwent interrogation. He was deprived of access to a lawyer. And meeting with his family at the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence detention center in Urmia. He then transferred to Urmia Central Prison.
According to Hengaw, Shahin Vasaf sentenced to death by the third branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia on charges of “spying for Israel.” This verdict communicated to him on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.
Based on the same report, Shahin and Naser Vasaf subjected to forced confessions and forced acceptance of the charge of “spying for Israel” under torture.

About the nationwide uprising of 2022

The uprising involved all strata, professions, and ethnicities of the Iranian people. Demonstrating that they are seeking to overthrow this regime and establish a free Iran ruled by the people.
The uprising blazed every day and night for over 6 months in the alleys, streets, and rooftops. Undoubtedly being the longest and most extensive uprising against the dictatorship of the Supreme Leader in the past 45 years.
