Iranian prisoners mark 96th week of “Tuesdays No to Execution” hunger strikes in 55 jails.
Iran Human Rights Society, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 – Prisoners across Iran launch the 96th week of the “Tuesdays No to Execution” campaign on November 25, 2025. Inmates in 55 prisons fast every Tuesday. They reject the death penalty outright. This week, Birjand Central Prison joins the fight. On November 26, they strike too. Their bold stand defies a ruthless execution surge.
Birjand Prison Steps Up
Birjand Central Prison now stands with 54 others. Inmates there send a fierce “No to Execution” message from inside. They hunger strike on Tuesday, November 26, 2025. This move expands the “Tuesdays No to Execution” movement further. Solidarity grows stronger week by week.
Prisoners Slam Ruthless Killing Machine
The 96th-week statement pulls no punches. Prisoners declare:

“Iran’s repressive system races to hang people just to survive. It widens death sentences without fair trials. It wields executions to spread terror. This violates basic human rights. It commits crimes against humanity.”
They expose the truth from their cells. They refuse silence.
Soleimani Death Sentence Fits the Pattern
Courts just sentenced Mohammad Mehdi Soleimani to death. He joined the 2022 uprising. The campaign calls it standard procedure. They state: “This verdict is no outlier. Authorities routinely kill protesters through a sham, politicized court system.” Justice dies in these trials. Politics rules instead.
Execution Toll Hits Horrific Heights
Numbers reveal the horror. In Aban (October 22–November 21, 2025), officials executed 311 people—the worst month since the 1988 massacre. Last week alone, they hanged 59 more. Since the Iranian year 1404 started on March 21, 2025, the regime has executed at least 1,479 prisoners. The gallows never rest.
UN Resolution Ignored by Regime
The UN General Assembly just passed its 72nd resolution against Iran’s abuses. It stressed two facts:
- It acknowledged the 1988 political prisoner massacre and feared repeats.
- It blasted the explosion of executions as state terror.
Iran shrugs. Hangings continue unchecked.
Brave Families Face Down Threats
Families of condemned prisoners protest weekly. They gather in streets despite risks. Security harasses them. Agents arrest and intimidate. Yet they fight for their loved ones. Their defiance demands attention.
