Amnesty International’s call to collect documentation of the torture of detainees of the national uprising in Iran
According to the report of the Iranian Human Rights Society, Amnesty International called on all people arrested in the nationwide protests of the Iranian people to submit their information and documents about torture and other cruel and humiliating behavior that is carried out in the detention centers and prisons of Velayat al-Faqih dictatorship.
The text of Amnesty International’s call is as follows:
Simultaneously with the release of a number of activists and protesters who were arrested during the deadly suppression of nationwide protests in Iran, Amnesty International issued this public call to collect information and documentation about patterns of torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading behavior in detention centers and prisons of the Islamic Republic.
Amnesty International invites all former detainees who have been tortured or witnessed torture, relatives of the tortured, medical staff and other informed sources to contact this organization to provide their stories and information.
Amnesty International is determined to inform the international community about the crimes committed against the protesters as much as possible by preparing accurate and legal documents. Gathering evidence and documents, including the identity of the torturers and the responsible authorities, is vital for future legal proceedings.
The identity of the callers will be kept confidential by Amnesty International.
