A young man executed in Gonbad-e Kavus prison on charges of killing a border commander.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, a young Turkmen executed in Gonbad-e Kavus prison, and also two other prisoners executed in Diesel Abad prison in Kermanshah and Tabriz Central prison.
All three prisoners accused of murder.
Execution of a young man on charges of killing a border guard commander in Gonbad-e Kavus prison
On Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, the judiciary executed a young man named Mehdi Bakhshandeh in Gonbad-e Kavus prison. Bakhshandeh accused of killing a border guard group commander in December 2020. Nabiallah Khatiri a guard who killed with cold weapons during an attack on one of the areas in Korand.
Mehdi Bakhshande was a young man from Karand, a town in the Gonbad-e Kavus area. It is said that Mehdi Bakhshande killed a man in defense of someone whobeaten and assaulted by repressor Nabiollah Khatiri.
Execution in Tabriz Central Prison
On Wednesday morning, November 15, 2023, also a prisoner named Ali Shirzadeh, 40 years old and from Jolfa, executed in Tabriz Central Prison. He, who a father of one child, arrested three years ago on charges of murder and sentenced to death.
Execution in Diesel Abad Prison in Kermanshah
On Tuesday morning, November 14, 2023, also a prisoner named Shahbaz Latifi Serini, 37 years old and from Kermanshah, executed in Diesel Abad Prison in Kermanshah. He arrested two years ago on charges of murder and sentenced to death.
Iran is a country that uses the tool of execution to suppress its own people and has the highest number of executions per capita. The death sentences issued and executed for crimes that, according to common legal definitions in the world, also not considered as “very serious crimes” and are the result of unfair and non-compliant trials with international standards.
