The death of a prisoner in infirmary’s GhezelHesar prison due to a wrong injection
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. The received news indicates the death of another prisoner in GhezelHesar prison due to the wrong injection.
According to an informed source, on December 25, 2023. A sick prisoner in GhezelHesar prison of Karaj, who went to the prison hospital for treatment and prescribed an injection, died after the injection.
This prisoner, Safar Rahimi, was one of the drug suspects. According to the same source, he accused of drugs, but he never used drugs. Safar Rahimi sentenced to death on charges related to drugs.
Prisoners in Iranian prisons endure tragic conditions. And also some of them lose their lives due to lack of medical attention.
However, due to censorship and repression, news of their deaths doesn’t reach the media. Only a few cases of these deaths in prisons reported in the media. On Thursday, 30th of August, 2023 (Iranian calendar), Javad Rouhi, a detainee from the nationwide protests of 2022, passed away under suspicious circumstances.
In its report titled “Waiting for Death: Deaths Due to Lack of Medical Care in Iranian Prisons” released in the current year, Amnesty International stated that it has documented 96 cases of prisoners who have deliberately been deprived of access to medical care over the past 12 years, resulting in their deaths.
The widespread and also increasing execution of prisoners from March 2022 until now is proof that Khamenei is killing his own citizens to prevent the fall of his regime by the people of Iran. But the blade of repression against the Iranian people is no longer effective.
