An Afghan prisoner executed in Qom Central Prison and another in Adel Abad Shiraz
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday, January 19, 2024, two prisoners executed in Qom Central Prison and Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz, accused of murder and drugs. The execution of these prisoners not published in government media.
Execution in the central prison of Qom
At dawn on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, a prisoner named Islam Aman al-Dini executed in the central prison of Qom. He, who was also a citizen of Afghanistan, and accused of killing a man three years ago.
Islam Aman al-Dini, 29 years old, from Kunduz, Afghanistan, and three years ago he arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to death.
Execution in Adel Abad Prison, Shiraz
On the morning of Tuesday, January 16, 2024, a prisoner named Kamran Khoroush executed in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz.
Kamran Khorosh, 44 years old, married and the father of one child. He arrested and sentenced to death two years ago on charges related to drugs.
Death penalty in Iran
Execution is a type of punishment and punishment, in other words, the most severe punishment for the convict. Currently, most countries in the world have abolished the death penalty, and countries that still have this type of punishment in their laws, except in rare cases, refrain from issuing or enforcing such sentences.
The death sentence is legal in Iran, and in Iran’s judicial rulings, this punishment is issued for some political crimes, murder, rape, sexual abuse of children, adultery, drug trafficking, armed robbery, kidnapping, and Moharebeh.
Currently, 104 countries have abolished the death penalty through referendums. 50 countries have abolished methods leading to death, and only 6 countries will have the death penalty during wartime.
