Masoumeh Sanobari attempted suicide in protest against increasing pressure and torture

According to a reliable source, Ms. Sanobari is deprived of communication with other prisoners and locked in a double cell.

Political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari in Fardis Karaj prison, protested against the torture and daily increase in pressure from the officers and the prison head. By the order of the judge, this political prisoner sentenced to serve her sentence in solitary confinement.

According to the report of the Iranian Human Rights Society, on May 14, 2023, political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari, one of the detainees of the general protests in Fardis Karaj prison, committed suicide by protesting the increasing pressure of the prison authorities on her by the order of the judge of her case. She cut the vein of her hand.

According to a reliable source, Ms. Sanobari deprived of communication with other prisoners and locked in a double cell.

This restriction applied by the order of the judge of the case.

In addition, she is also facing restrictions to contact her family and they are preventing her from charging her phone card.
These pressures applied while contact with family is one of the basic and recognized rights of every prisoner.

Political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari is one of the detainees of nationwide protests in Karaj. She kept in the quarantine of Kechoui prison in harsh conditions. Deprived of all the rights of political prisoners, deprived of air and in solitary confinement. And deprived of visiting other prisoners. On the other hand, this political prisoner sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison.

According to an informed source. The political prisoner Masoumeh Sanobari locked in the solitary suite of the women’s ward of Kechui prison (Fardis Karaj).

She has a limited amount of time to call her family every day, and unlike other prisoners, they set a time limit for her contact with her family.

The source adds: “She not allowed to communicate with other female prisoners. His air time limited to one hour every few days. In this schedule, other prisoners will be taken out of the air house so that she cannot communicate with them. “

According to the same source, according to the court’s decision, she does not have the right to communicate with other prisoners. And should be a prisoner in a closed prison.

Masoumeh Sanobari, a citizen of Tabriz, arrested in Karaj on December 13, 2022. And transferred to the Intelligence Department of this city. On Sunday, January 4, 2023, after about 40 days of interrogation, she transferred to Ward 4 of Fardis Karaj Prison (Women’s Ward of Kechui Prison).

On March 5, 2023, this political prisoner tried by Branch 1 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court and accused of “participating in actions against the country through membership in the People’s Mojahedin Khalq, propaganda activity against the regime through participation in illegal gatherings, propaganda activity and writing slogans and publishing pictures of the leaders of Mojahedin Khalq” sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison.

It is clear that the responsibility for the life and any unfortunate incident that happens to this prisoner is the responsibility of the prisons organization and the judicial system of the dictatorship of Velayat al-Faqih.
