Masoumeh Yavari, a former political prisoner, is now in serious physical condition in Daulat Abad prison in Isfahan after arrested and interrogated
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Monday, September 11, 2023. Masoumeh Yavari, a former political prisoner who previously diagnosed with severe back disc in Evin prison. Due to long interrogations in Daulat Abad prison, now suffering a severe back injury and two lumbar discs protruded.
According to an informed source, Mrs.Yavari diagnosed with lumbar disc in prison and is currently suffering from severe back pain in prison. Long interrogations have caused two discs in her back to pop out.
Masoumeh Yavari also suffers from diseases such as heart disease, blockage of blood vessels and severe thyroid hypofunction. The prison officials have not even delivered her medicines and thus her condition is urgent for medical and treatment procedures. And these inhuman actions against her should be stopped as soon as possible and deal with immediately.
On September 4, 2023, Mrs. Yavari arrested by security agents in her personal home in Golpayegan and after searching her house, was taken to Daulat Abad prison in Isfahan.
According to a reliable source, she accused of propaganda against the regime.
Who is Masoumeh Yavari ?
Masoumeh Yavari, born in 1978, is a housewife and mother of two children.

Previously, she imprisoned in Evin, Gohardasht and Qarchak’s prisons in Veramine for three years in 2009. And she accused of participating in the 2009 protests and associating with the Mojahedeen in prison. She initially accused of Moharebeh by the court. But after some time she acquitted and sentenced to 7 years in prison, she released after three years.
About the nationwide protests of 2009:
The nationwide protests of the Iranian people, which started in 40 cities of Iran, especially in Tehran, on June 12, 2009, after the announcement of the fake election results in favor of Ahmadinejad. And it quickly turned into a protest of millions of people against the rule of Velayat al-Faqih. During this series of protests, for the first time, the slogan “Death to Khamenei” was echoed by a brave woman in Tehran.
These protests continued for 7 days. On the 26th and 27th of December 2009, large-scale public demonstrations in different cities of Iran reached their peak and shook Khamenei’s rule.
