With the execution of two prisoners, including an Afghan citizen, in Taibad prison, the number of those executed in one day reached at least twelve people in Taibad, Minab and Central Karaj prisons.

Iranian Human Rights Society. At dawn on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, the death sentence of two prisoners, Khalqullah Fahimzadeh and Hassan Haqvardizadeh, executed in Taybad prison on charges of drug relation.

The Iranian Human Rights Organization, which published this report, quoted an informed source, and wrote: “Khalkullah Fahimzadeh was from Afghanistan and has been in prison for two and a half years. Hasan Haqvardizadeh has been in prison for about three years.”

In this way, on Tuesday, September 6, at least twelve prisoners executed in the central prisons of Karaj, Minab and Taibad, and the number of those executed since the beginning of 2022 has reached at least 424 people.

Also, according to the received reports, on Tuesday, six prisoners in Ghezel Hesar prison and one prisoner in Qom prison transferred to solitary cells to execute the sentence.

Iran’s human rights community demands an immediate halt to the execution of death sentences. We ask the United Nations and the Human Rights Council to take immediate action to stop executions in Iran.
