Two more prisoners executed in the central prison of Karaj. Moreover, after recent riot in prisons, prisoners are still being tortured in solitary cells.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, two more prisoners executed in Karaj Central Prison. These two prisoners, Borjali Karami and Majid Shamhammadi, both accused of narcotics and sentenced to death for this charge.
On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, two other prisoners also executed in the same prison. So that the number of executions reached 4 people in one day.
Karaj Central Prison is the prison that has the highest number of executions in the country in the last month. In this prison, since the evening of December 17, 2022, after rioting in this prison and shooting the prisoners. One hundred prisoners transferred to solitary cells known as suites, about 50 sentenced to death.
Since December 17, 2022, these prisoners are deprived of contact and visits. A few of them transferred to public halls and the rest are still in solitary cells. According to reliable sources, these prisoners are still in solitary cells.
Some of the prisoners executed during last month transferred from these solitary cells to the place of execution and their executions carried out.
On January 22, 2023, Saman Nabi Grossi, one of the prisoners sentenced to death, transferred from these punishment suites for the death sentence.
According to an informed source, Saman Nabi Grossi was 32 years old and married. He lost his parents and two brothers in an accident and was the guardian of his only brother.
On Saturday, December 17, 2022, prisoners of Halls 2, 3 and 4 of Karaj Central Prison protested and rioted with slogan of death to Khamenei. The reason for their protest was transferring of a number of prisoners for execution. Fattahi, head of the prison, and the guards attacked the prisoners and shot them.
On the same day, officers took a number of injured and dead people out of the place with a cart. There is no information about the exact number of dead and injured.
