According to the Mizan site affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in the last court session, Jamshid Sharmahd, an Iranian-German citizen, was sentenced to death by the Tehran Revolutionary Court on the charge of “corruption on earth through planning and directing terrorist acts”. became.
This decision can be appealed by the Supreme Court.
On July 31, 2020, Jamshid Sharmahd was arrested in Tajikistan and transferred to Iran. Born in 1955, he is electronics engineer and information technology major, married and has children.
Three prisoners were executed in the central prison of Urmia
Also, on the morning of Monday, February 20, 2023, three prisoners were executed in the central prison of Urmia. The names of these three prisoners were Vahid Bayzaei, Saadullah Farrokhi and Amir Ali Bayrami.
All three prisoners were charged with murder and sentenced to death.
On February 19, 2023, all three prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement to execute the death sentence.
Previously, on February 16, 2023, a prisoner named Nojomi Moradi, 23 years old and from Salmas, was executed in the central prison of Urmia on charges of murder.
It should be noted that over the past month, more than 40 prisoners have been executed in Iran’s prisons on drug charges, murder and armed robbery.
