Sanandaj, Jiroft, Gohardasht, execution of at least four prisoners. Increase of three executions in Khorram Abad prison
Four prisoners accused of murder and drugs were executed in Gohardasht, Sanandaj and Jiroft prisons. In addition, three prisoners were also executed in Khorramabad Central Prison on charges of murder.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on the 15th and 18th of May 2023, at least seven prisoners accused of murder and drugs were executed in Gohardasht, Sanandaj and Jiroft prisons and Khorramabad Central Prison.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, two prisoners named Mustafa Salehi and Jamshid Karimi were executed in Sanandaj Central Prison on charges of murder.
According to Hengaw website, Jamshid Karimi was returned to jail from the place of execution at dawn today. But after an hour, he was transferred again for execution and the sentence was carried out.
On the same day, another prisoner named Nader Darigi (Gale Baccha) was executed in Jiroft Prison, Kerman. Nader Rigi, one of the defendants related to drugs, was married.
Three prisoners executed on charges of murder in Khorram Abad Central Prison
According to other news, three prisoners have been executed on charges of murder in Khorram Abad Central Prison. The name of one of these prisoners was Ali Khorramshah Amrai, and there is no information about the names of the other two prisoners.
The government website Rukna also announced the execution of a prisoner named Masoud on May 15, 2023, in Gohardasht prison.
Masoud, a citizen of Afghanistan, was accused of murdering a woman.
Other news indicates that at least 6 prisoners, including 5 men and one woman, transferred to solitary confinement.
It should be noted that since April 21, 2023, the government of Wilayat al-Faqih has started executing a large number of prisoners. Including executions in Gohardasht, Sanandaj and Jiroft prisons, nearly 100 prisoners have been executed in Iran’s prisons. After the increasing number of executions of prisoners and the acceleration of the execution of their sentences by the judiciary, the families of the prisoners sentenced to death gathered in front of the Tehran judiciary and demanded to stop the executions.
