Yunes Azadbar, one of the political prisoners of the sixties and seventies, was arrested again
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Monday, July 31, 2023. News received from an informed source indicates that on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Yunes Azadbar, over 60 years old, was arrested by intelligence agents. Agents arrested him at his residence in Sangar city of Gilan province.
After his arrest, he was transferred to Mithaq Ward of Lakan Prison in Rasht, and his case is being processed in the Sanger Investigation Branch.
According to this source, he was arrested and imprisoned before in the 60s and 70s and suffered from epilepsy due to batons on his head and other tortures. Despite the passing of years, he still suffers from the effects of torture.
Due to his old age and illness, his physical condition is serious, he cannot bear the harsh conditions of prison and his life is in danger.
Khamenei’s problem will not be solved with mass executions or re-arresting. Because the people of Iran have clearly declared that they do not want this dictatorial rule. And for this reason, the people’s protest movement will not stop until the overthrow of this regime.
