After 10 days of being transferred, the exiled political prisoners to Ghezel Hesar are living in very dire conditions. They want to return to Evin prison by not eating prison food.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 10 days have passed since the forcible transfer of 13 exiled political prisoners from Evin prison to Ghezel Hesar. They live in solitary cells in the 13th ward 9th (safe ward) of this prison in dire conditions.
These prisoners demanded to return to Evin prison from the transfer day, September 3, 2023, and boycotted the prison food. But they have not received any response yet.
According to an informed source, Heshmatullah Hayat al-Ghaib, the head of Tehran Provincial Prisons Organization, visited the hall of exiled political prisoners last week. But after his visit, the conditions for the prisoners have worsened and the restrictions and strictures of Ghezel Hesar prison have increased.
These prisoners still deprived of having hot water and the possibility of bathing, use of fresh air, telephone, the possibility of buying from the prison store, adequate air conditioning in their cells, and they lack basic living facilities. The smelly air bothers the prisoners every day. They are still refusing to take prison food in protest against the forced deportation, the false filings of the prisons organization, and the dire living conditions in Ghezel Hesar prison.
Sick prisoners, deprived of medical treatment
Some sick prisoners, such as Afshin Baymani, Jafar Ebrahimi, etc., deprived of medical treatment and did not receive the medicines that prepared at their own expense.
Ashkan Kamali, the head of Ghezel Hesar prison, has played a significant role in creating these restrictions and abuses with numerous disruptions, and there is no accountability.
Saeed Masouri, one of the political prisoners exiled to Ghezel Hesar prison, previously wrote about this prison in an article titled Ghazal Hesar or Ghazal Akhdovoud. “Ghezel Hesar is a dungeon where Iranian people thrown into and burned by the will of Velayat al-Faqih and by the command of a criminal named Ajei.”
It should be noted that on Sunday, September 3, 2023, the Evin prison guards brutally attacked the eighth ward of Evin prison, along with a number of others, including Afshin Baimani. Hamzeh Sawari, Hossein Gachlu, Masoudreza Ebrahiminejad, Luqman Aminpour, Saman Yasin (Saidy), Mohammad Shafeai, Sepehr Imam Jumah, Kamiar Fakour. Ahmadreza Haeri, Reza Salmanzadeh and Jafar Ebrahimi handcuffed and taken to Qazalhasar prison in Karaj. Then they locked in very inhumane conditions in the prison where prisoners sentenced to death kept the night before the execution of the sentence.
