Mohammad Mehdi Vosoghian detaine without committing any crime. And solely to force his mother to accept all the charges brought against him and to coerce into forced confessions.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, the first of Azar month, 1402 (November 22, 2023). Mohammad Mehdi Vosoghian, a detainee held in Golpayegan prison, tried in the Revolutionary Court branch of this city. After the trial, he returned to Golpayegan prison by the authorities.
The charges against Mohammad Mehdi Vosoghian include anti-regime propaganda activities. And also membership in opposing groups with the intention of undermining national security, and connections with hostile governments.
Mohammad Mehdi Vosoghian, 20 years old, a student of intelligence and also deputy secretary of the Medical Sciences University Guild Council in Isfahan. He is the son of Masoumeh Yavari, one of the recent detainees. Mrs. Yavari arrested at her home in Golpayegan on September 4, 2023. On September 11th, Mohammad Mehdi arrested at his father’s house by the raid of Ministry of Intelligence agents.
Arrest and Trial to put pressure on the mother
News received from informed sources indicates that Mohammad Mehdi Vosoghian detained without committing any crime, solely for the purpose of pressuring his mother to force her to accept all the charges brought against him during interrogations and to coerce into making forced confessions.
Ms. Masoumeh Yavari is a 45-year-old housewife with two children. She had previously suffered from severe disc herniation in her back while in Evin prison.

After her re-arrest, due to long interrogations in Daulat Abad prison, Isfahan, she suffered a severe disc injury in her lower back. Long interrogations have made Ms. Yavari’s illness worse.
Ms. Yavari previously arrested in 2009 and was imprisoned for 3 years in Evin, Gohardasht and Qarchak prisons in Varamin due to her participation in protests and association with Mujahideen. She initially accused of Moharebeh by the court, but after a while she acquitted and sentenced to 7 years in prison. Ms. Yavari released from prison after spending 3 years.
