Change in the charge of 3 detainees in Bukan
Security forces detained these individuals in Bukan in February 2023 and then transferred them to the detention center of the Intelligence in Urmia.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, the charge of 3 citizens from Bukan changed to Moharebeh and corruption on earth. The arrested persons are Kamran Soltani, Mohammad Faraji and Rauf Sheikh Maarofi. These people arrested by the security forces during the nationwide protests of 2022. The security forces arrested these people in Bukan in March 2022 and transferred them to the detention center of Urmia Intelligence Department.
Kamran Soltani, Mohammad Faraji and Rauf Sheikh Ma’roufi were transferred to solitary cells in the detention center of Urmia Intelligence Department. They were subjected to brutal physical and mental torture in prison. With the tortures applied, the security agents intend to take responsibility for the murder of a security agent.
Kamran Soltani, Mohammad Faraji, and Rauf Sheikh-Ma’roufi have not even accepted these accusations under inhumane pressure and torture. These three Kurdish citizens transferred to the Bukan prison from Urmia after the end of the interrogation period.
After nearly 10 months, these individuals are still in temporary detention. During the interrogation and afterward, these three individuals deprived of the right to have a lawyer.
The active youth of Bukan company participated in the nationwide protests of 2022.
The people and youth of Bukan played an active role in the nationwide protests of 2022. In December 2022, the people of Bukan held a commemoration ceremony in the city’s cemetery for the fortieth day of the protesters’ deaths and chanted “Death to Khamenei”. The suppressive forces shot at the people.
The suppressive forces had surrounded the Bukan cemetery with semi-heavy weapons such as machine guns. After the end of the ceremony, the people of Bukan protested in the surrounding streets and chanted “Death to Khamenei”.
During the nationwide protests of 2022, the youth and people of Bukan attacked government centers and set some of them on fire, including the judiciary, Afagh store( belonging to IRGC), municipality, and others.
The government leaders are trying to create an atmosphere of fear and terror to prevent the continuation of the protests. The change in the sentences of three Bukan citizens is also in line with this.
