According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, January 25, 2024, four prisoners accused of drug possession and one accused of murder executed in Shiraz and Hamadan prisons.
The execution of three drug-related prisoners in Shiraz prison
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, two drug-related prisoners, Fazel Shafiei and Morteza Nadimi, executed in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz. 40-year-old Fazel Shafiei and 35-year-old Morteza Nadimi both arrested and sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
On the same day, another prisoner, whose identity is unknown, executed in Pirbanu prison in Shiraz on charges of murder.
Execution of two prisoners in Hamadan Central Prison
On Sunday, January 21, 2024, two drug-related prisoners named Salman Salimi and Ahmad Haeri executed in Hamedan Central Prison (Alvand). Both Salman Salimi and Ahmad Haeri were from Kermanshah.

Historically, execution has been a tool of dictators’ power and rule to intimidate and subjugate the people. The dictatorship ruling Iran has been using the tool of execution for 40 years to create suffocation and stabilize its sovereignty permanently, Because giving up the means of execution and repression means the destruction of the religious authority system.
Iran is a country that uses the tool of execution to suppress its own people and has the highest number of executions per capita. The death sentences are issued and carried out after unfair and non-compliant trials with international standards and for crimes that are not considered “very serious crimes” according to common legal definitions around the world.
