Informing is the most important thing, when your loved ones are detained, don't miss the golden time!

Do not remain silent when your loved ones are detained

Informing is the most important thing.Do not remain silent when your loved ones are detained

Do not remain silent when your loved ones are detained; “Every minute you hide the news of your loved ones’ arrest, you give the agents more opportunity to torture and extract false confessions.

One of the most important measures to save detained people is informing. Many political activists have shared their experiences in this field many times in the virtual space. And they have asked the families not to miss the “golden time” and to inform as soon as possible about the detained person or persons in their family.

Iran’s human rights society asks all families to save their detained loved ones from the black tunnel of torture and confession by carefully studying these experiences.

Based on many experiences, this quick and timely information, first of all, reduces the pressure on the prisoner and on the other hand, it prevents the judicial system and the Ministry of Intelligence
from forcing confessions and issuing heavy sentences based on these false confessions.

Here we will review some experiences and examples together:(Informing is the most important thing)

Arash Sadeghi, a former political prisoner, mentioned the “golden time” in this regard and said: “When the security apparatus arrests a person, they do their best to make the family remain silent. From the promise of freedom and that there is nothing and that the case will be ended quickly, to threats and arrests of family members. But the most important issue is the golden time.”

What is golden time?

Arash Sadeghi continues his words: “The golden time is the time between the arrest of a person and the end of the interrogation.” Any media work should be done at this time. Otherwise, the person will be taken under interrogation, solitary cell and torture. Forced confessions are taken from the person and the same confessions lead to execution or imprisonment and heavy sentences. For example, we can mention Amir Aslani, Mohammad Salas or even Zaniar and Luqman and many other prisoners.

Mr. Sadeghi continues: “The issue of information is very important. Notification greatly reduces the pressure of interrogation and torture to be carried out. Every prisoner who was arrested and had a good news story done for him and whose family was the voice of the prisoner received a lesser sentence or at least was under less pressure during the interrogation.

Saeed Dehghan, a lawyer, wrote on his personal account on Twitter:

“The silence and anonymity of the detainees is what the interrogators want. They are afraid of being in the news. This shows that publishing the news about the arrest and the prisoner prevents them from putting pressure on the prisoner.
So don’t be silent!

Saeed Afkari, Navid Afkari’s brother, while stressing the need to inform and publicize the matter of the detainees, wrote:

“Every minute you hide the news of your loved ones’ arrest, you give the agents more opportunity to torture and extract false confessions. Be careful of lawyers and government officials who will approach you. In some cases, they may even be your relatives and invite you to remain silent.

In a series of tweets, Saeed Afkari expressed the experience of his brother Navid Afkari’s case and listed the steps that were taken in “legal” channels, but unfortunately ended in execution. He emphasized that if someone thinks he can do more legal work, it is wrong. You have no chance with more legal work.

Saeed Afkari said: “When your loved ones are detained and isolated, informing is the most important thing you should do without a doubt.”

Iran’s human rights society emphasizes that the only way to confront a judiciary that is governed by no law, and where there is no sign of “justice”, “rights” and “humanity”, is to mediate and reveal.

Silence is nothing but confirmation of torture and execution. This importance has been proven not only in Navid Afkari’s case but also in many cases during the 43 years of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Among these cases, we can mention the execution case of Mustafa Salehi, which became the media only on the day that Mustafa was transferred to solitary cell for execution.

Last year, in this regard, a campaign was held on social networks. For more information, you can take a look at the “Don’t be silent campaign” in the hashtag #Don’t be silent, on Twitter and Instagram, and hear more examples and cases from the families of political prisoners who have emphasized the informing need to .

The Iranian Human Rights Society, in solidarity with the lawyers and families of political prisoners, requests the families of the detainees to mediate the matter of the detainees as soon as possible through the human rights media when a person is detained during nationwide protests or in any other case. and expose them to public opinion

We emphasize, as Saeed Afkari wrote: “Be careful of lawyers and government activists who will approach you. In some cases, they may even be your relatives and invite you to be silent.”

Well-known human rights sites and channels are the best way to accompany and convey your voice.

One of the followers of the Iranian Human Rights Society wrote in a poem about this:

falling into the trap of silence,
It is extremely insecure
The pains of your heart are shared with the sufferings of my mind
Shout, I’m standing next to you; see me….
