Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi,in hunger strike. The uprising is on the way
Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi went on a hunger strike to get their freedom on anniversary of the national uprising.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday, September 15, 2023. Political prisoners and two elite students, Ali Yunsi and Amirhossein Moradi, on a hunger strike in Evin prison on anniversary of national uprising. Ali Younesi’s sister announced this on her page. These two political prisoners announced they will be on hunger strike from the anniversary of arrest until Mahsa Amini’s death. In order to achieve freedom and destroy the dictatorship, whether it is the crown or the turban.
Political prisoners Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi announced in a short message that they are going on a hunger strike in support of the nationwide uprising on its anniversary. They stated:
“The uprising is on the way.
An uprising to achieve freedom.
An uprising to destroy dictatorship in any form, be it with a crown or a turban.
As a sign of solidarity with this uprising, we will intensify our hunger strike from the anniversary of hearrest to the death of Mahsa Amini.”
According to reports, these two political prisoners currently deprived of contact with their families.
These two political prisoners had previously written from Evin Prison that they see themselves as a drop of roaring river to break the dam of dictatorship that stands in the way of Iran’s history.

These two political prisoners declared that they are going on a hunger strike from the anniversary of their arrest to the death of Mahsa Amini in order to achieve freedom and the downfall of dictatorship, be it with a crown or a turban.
About Elite Students Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi:
Ali Younesi, a computer engineering student, and Amirhossein Moradi, a physics student. Both elite students at Sharif University of Technology, arrested on April 10, 2020, by intelligence agents without a judicial order. Their arrest was accompanied by physical violence. The two students then transferred to individual cells in Evin Prison.
On the night of Friday, April 10, 2020. After searching their homes and without a judicial order, the agents arrested the two students with severe beatings. During the raid on Ali Younesi’s house, 12 Revolutionary Guards beat him so badly that his forehead was split open.
Amirhossein Moradi won the silver medal in the national astronomy Olympiad in 2017. Ali Younesi won the silver medal in national astronomy Olympiad in 2016 and the gold medal in national astronomy Olympiad in 2017. Ali Younesi also won a gold medal at 12th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad held in China, bringing honor to Iran.
On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Amnesty International issued an open letter to the Iranian judiciary warning of the risk of execution of the two elite students, Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi, and calling for their immediate release.
Finally, these two elite political prisoners transferred to the public wards of Evin Prison on June 26, 2022. After 808 days of detention in solitary confinement and individual cells with heavy sentences of 16 years in prison.
Ali Younesi currently imprisoned in Evin Prison with his father Mir Yousef Younesi.
Mir Yousef Younesi arrested during nationwide protests and is still being held without charge after seven months.
