Amnesty International says that 28 people who were arrested during the recent protests are at risk of execution
Amnesty International reported that at least 28 people, including three children, who were arrested during the revolutionary uprising of Iranians against the Islamic Republic, are in danger of execution on charges such as “corruption on earth” and “moharebeh.”

This organization announced that so far preliminary death sentences have been issued for Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh, Mahan Sadrat Madani, Manouchehr Mehmannawaz, Mohammad Broghani, Mohammad Ghabadlo, Abolfazl Mehri Hossein Hajilo, Mohsen Rezazadeh Gharagholou, Saman (Yasin) Seydi and Saeed Shirazi.
Emphasizing that these verdicts can be appealed, Amnesty International called on all people around the world to write to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the European Union, located in Brussels, and request to prevent the execution of these people.
The statement of this organization also mentioned 15 other people who were tried in the Karaj Revolutionary Court in Alborz province on charges of “warfare” and corruption on the earth
Amnesty International: Children at risk of execution
These people include a couple named Farzaneh and Hamid Gharahasanlou and three 17-year-old boys named Amin Mohammad (Mehdi) Shokrallahi. Amir Mohammad (Mehdi) Jafari and Arian Farzamnia.

This organization reminded that these three children are being tried in adult courts, contrary to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Iran has accepted.
The other defendants in this case are Mohammad Mehdi Karami, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, Reza Aria, Mehdi Mohammadi, Shayan Charani, Mohammad Amin Akhlaghi, Reza Shaker Zavardehi, Javad Zargaran, Behrad Alikanari and Ali Moazzami Godarzi.
Amnesty International reminded that the authorities of the Islamic Republic are also seeking the death penalty for Akbar Ghaffari and Majidreza Rahnavard, who are being tried in Tehran and Khorasan Razavi provinces, and Rapper Tomaj Salehi and Ebrahim Rigi, Baloch citizens, are also in danger of execution.
This organization further refers to the torture of the accused in order to obtain a forced confession from the prisoner and use it as evidence of the crime. It also emphasizes that many of the detainees were and are deprived of the right to have access to a chosen lawyer and a fair trial.
In its call, Amnesty International called on everyone to emphasize the necessity of freedom and the immediate abolition of death sentences. They ask Gholamhossein Mohseni Ajeei, the head of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, to prevent more death sentences for citizens. And also apply international judicial standards in prohibiting the execution of children and special regulations for children in courts.
The statement also called for independent inspectors from foreign embassies to be allowed to attend the trials of protest detainees.
