A prisoner was executed in Arak Central Prison on charges related to drugs.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, quoted by Hengaw, on Sunday, March 5, 2023, a prisoner named Salman Momeni was executed in Arak Central Prison.
Salman Momeni was 36 years old and from Ilam.
According to the same report, Mehdi Nurkarmi, cousin of Salman Momeni. Also executed on August 10, 1401, on the charge of drugs.
It should be noted that the execution of these prisoners was not reported in the government media. Including these executions, at least 65 prisoners have been executed in the past twenty-five days, Which means two prisoners have been executed on average every day. A large number of executed prisoners are drug defendants.
Since Gholamhossein Mohseni Ajei and Ebrahim Raisi took office, executions have increased shockingly.
In the conditions of repression in Iran’s prisons, the news of many executions, is not reported due to news silence and government media censorship.
