A prisoner of drug charges was executed in Borujerd prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. A prisoner named Ehsan Dehghanipour, from Khorramabad, was executed in Borujard prison. His death sentence was executed last week.
The charge of this prison, for which he was sentenced to death, was related to drugs.
According to a source close to this prisoner, Ehsan Dehghanipour’s father had been executed in previous years for the same charge in Borujerd prison. Additional information about his execution is under investigation.
The government of Valayat al-Faqih executes executions under various pretexts and accusations in order to maintain and consolidate its power and increase the oppression of Iranian people. The execution of drug suspects is carried out in a situation where the major drug cartels are in the hands of the Revolutionary Guards.
