Iranian Human Rights Society, December 10, 2022. EU foreign policy official Josep Borrell announced on Friday, December 9th. In a conversation with Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iran’s Foreign Minister has informed him of the union’s position on the necessity of stopping the suppression and execution of protesters and also of stopping support for Russia.

The European Union’s foreign policy official tweeted. “I spoke with Hossein Amirabdollahian about several issues, including the execution of Mohsen Shekari.”
United Nations experts condemned the first execution of one of the participants
Josep Burrell has written further. “I communicated the position of the European Union to him. Immediately stop the execution and repression, respect the fundamental freedoms of the Iranian people and stop military support from Russia.”
On the other hand, on Thursday, December 8, United Nations experts condemned the first execution of one of the participants in the nationwide protests. They warned about the danger of more executions that threaten the lives of the arrested artists.
According to UN experts. “Executions after unfair trials” are baseless and arbitrary actions in “depriving these people of their right to life”. They asked the government of the Islamic Republic to immediately cancel the death sentence of these people.
These experts said: “We are concerned for the lives of Iranian artists who accused of crimes punishable by death.”. They specifically pointed to Kurdish rapper Saman Yassin, who reportedly sentenced to death after being convicted in Tehran’s Revolutionary Court on October 21 on charges of corruption on earth (Moharebeh).
Mohsen Shekari, a 23-year-old protester. He sentenced to death by Revolutionary Court on the charge of “closing Sattar Khan Street and injuring a Basiji force” in the first days of the current protests. And the death sentence of this young protester was carried out in the morning of Thursday, December 8.
The execution of Mohsen Shekari, a 23-year-old protester, faced widespread public protests in Iran and global condemnation from many countries. And United Nations human rights experts also condemned it.
