Two prisoners sentenced to death executed in Karaj Central Prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, October 4nd, 2023. Two prisoners sentenced to death in Karaj Central Prison executed. The death sentence of these two prisoners, one of whom a 56-year-old man, carried out on Septamber 27th, 2023, in Karaj Prison.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, one of these prisoners Saman Asgari, 29 years old. And also the other prisoner named Kuchak Mozaffar, 56 years old. They convicted of murder and sentenced to death. These prisoners had transferred from Ward 7 of Karaj Central Prison for the execution of their sentence.
According to a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. The Islamic Republic of Iran has also the highest number of executions per capita . And also sentences are often issued and carried out for crimes that not considered “very serious crimes” according to commonly accepted legal definitions around the world.
Historically, execution has been a tool of power and dictatorship to intimidate and subdue people. Dictatorship ruling Iran using the tool of execution for over forty years to create fear and also to establish its permanent rule. Because refraining from using the tool of execution and repression means the destruction of system of the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist. 104 countries have abolished the death penalty through referendums.
