According to the report of the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, political prisoners deported from Evin prison to Ghezelhesar prison are under the most intense pressure since they entered this prison. Lack of place, lack of air-conditioning, lack of segregation of crimes, lack of safe drinking water and lack of hot water for bathing. Also, restrictions on phone calls with their families by the head of the prison are among the problems that these prisoners have faced in the past week.

This is not a prison, it is a wilderness. Comparing Ghezelhasar to Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, etc. also does not describe the situation here.
Perhaps the most important advantage of Gohardasht’s closure and transfer to Ghazalhesar is that by deporting political prisoners to this exile, the Iranian people and public opinion will know what is happening in this slaughterhouse.
After the closure of Gohardasht, the prisoners of Gohardasht are all locked up in unit 3 of Ghezelhesar prison. This unit, which consists of 8 wards, can accommodate 500 prisoners in the best case. But nearly 2000 prisoners are locked up in it without minimum facilities and in inhumane conditions. Prisoners accused of murder, armed robbery, etc. are often awaiting death sentences.
The prison basically lacks the necessary infrastructure for the life of this amount of prisoners. So that there is not even drinking water or hot water for bathing. Ghazalhesar prison is basically run by prisoners and through “crime” (prison crimes) and each year has its own crime.
There is not even a pharmacy for essential medicines inside Ghezelhesar units, and a prisoner on the verge of death may only receive minimal medical facilities, unless it is decided to physically remove them (which has happened in some cases).
In short, the situation here is not catastrophic, but the disaster itself.
Next to the eight blocks, there is a safe block where political prisoners transferred in exile, which is built in the shape of a horseshoe (U) and there are 15 solitary cells in each corridor, where prisoners awaiting the execution of the death sentence and prisoners who They released from prison due to a fight, they kept, and most of them awaiting execution. They don’t have air conditioning or telephone, and these issues make them hide any violent act, which is undoubtedly the responsibility of the prison.
3 cells allocated to political prisoners, which lack ventilation, drinking water and hot water. Because of this, the prisoners refused to take food from the moment they arrived, and since the secure ward does not have a store, it is practically impossible to prepare food.
In the subdivisions of the prison, Sunni religious prisoners locked up in a limited and closed space without minimum facilities. Despite the fact that most of them have been in prison for years. And some of them are awaiting death sentence, some are even in prison since childhood.
Political prisoners have announced that they will continue their protest until their demands, i.e. returning to Evin and stopping false cases, are fulfilled. And if their demands not heeded, they will put other necessary measures in their work plan.

They ask the people and independent human rights institutions, civil organizations and political parties not to remain silent in front of the inhumane and barbaric conditions that are going on in Ghezelhesar exile. The youth imprisoned in this prison and its terrible prisons are the children of this land who are victims of the inhumane policies of an undemocratic and authoritarian structure.

It should be noted that on Sunday, September 3, 2023. At 9:00 a.m., the guards of Evin prison brutally attacked political prisoner Saeed Masouri along with a number of others. Including Afshin Baimani, Hamze Savari, Hossein Gachlu, Masoudreza Ebrahiminejad. Also, Lughman Aminpour, Saman Yasin (Saidy), Mohammad Shafei, Sepehr Imam Jumeh, Kamiyar Fakour. Ahmadreza Haeri, Reza Salmanzadeh, and Jafar Ebrahimi handcuffed and taken to Ghezelhasar prison in Karaj. Then they were locked up in very inhumane conditions in the prison where prisoners sentenced to death are kept the night before the execution of the sentence.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, political prisoner Saeed Masouri sent a message with the title. “Ghezelhesar or Ghezel Akhdovud” to the terrible and inhumane situation of Ghezelhesar prison. And he wrote that the cause of this situation is Hayat al-Gharib, the director general of prisons in Tehran province and Ajei, the head of the judiciary.
