The political prisoner Hayman Shahi, one of the detainees of the national protests in Oshnavieh, is still in the central prison of Urmia, despite the fact that more than 10 months have passed since his arrest.

Hayman Shahi is 23 years old, married and has a 3-month-old child. He recently lost his father and took care of his family. He supported the family by working as a laborer in the summers and as a bakery apprentice in the fall.
Hayman Shahi from Oshnavieh was arrested in October 2022 in the midst of nationwide protests in the city of Oshnavieh.
So far, they have organized a court for him twice. The accusations brought against him in the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, “Collusion and , action against internal security, Moharebeh, Corruption on Earth . And disrupting the public order of the country, participating in incitement and deliberate destruction of government property of Sepah and Refah’s Bank, and disobedience to officers while on duty. He not allowed to have a lawyer.

He summoned on Monday, January 30, 2023 and pressured to give an interview and forced confession in front of the camera, asking for forgiveness and repentance. He refused to participate in this game.

According to a reliable source, 2 cases filed against Hayman Shahi. In one part of this case, he accused of “warfare and corruption in the land” and the other part, which is related to “damage to Refah’s Bank and Sepah government facilities” and “use of weapons in protests”, is under investigation in the 104th Criminal Branch.
Hayman Shahi did not accept these accusations and stated that his confessions in both cases taken under pressure during the interrogation.
