Sunni political ideological prisoners are on hunger strike in Ghazalhasar prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, September 4, 2023. Sunni prisoner of conscience are on hunger strike in Ghezel Hesar,prison. After transferring to Ghezel Hesar, Sunni prisoners locked in a room in inappropriate conditions and deprived of their basic rights. These prisoners went on hunger strike to protest against the bad conditions of the prison and not having a separate hall. They refuse to take prison food and have no facilities.
15 Prisoners with the names of Fereydoun Zakari, Qasim Abeste, Seyyed Davoud Abdullahi. Abdolrahim Qanbarzahi Gargij, Eidou Shah Bakhsh, Suleiman Shah Bakhsh, Abdul Ghani Shah Bakhsh. Salahuddin Ziai, Anwar Khezri, Khosrow Basharat, Kamran Sheikha, Ayoub Karimi, Farhad Salimi. Mohammad Saleh Ziadullah, Abdullah Vuria and another prisoner are in a state of disorder after transferred from Gohardasht prison to Ghezel Hesar .
On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, they transferred from Gohardasht Karaj prison to Ghezel Hesar, prison. These prisoners previously locked in the 21st hall of Gohardasht Karaj prison separately.
According to an informed source, the conditions are such that the prisoners have no place to sleep and some of them have to sleep in the corridor. In four meters, they have accommodated six prisoners.
The poor condition of Ghezel Hesar prison
There is no air conditioning. There is no safe drinking water in this prison. Prisoners have to buy drinking water at an exorbitant price.
It should be noted that Sunni political prisoners of conscience endured the harsh conditions of prison for 14 years since 2009. Now, after 14 years in prison, they have been transferred to a prison that does not have the most basic facilities.

Sunni political prisoners of conscience, Ghasem Abesteh, Dawood Abdullahi, Anwar Khezri, Khosro Basharat, Farhad Salimi, Ayub Karimi and Kamran Sheikheh subjected to the most severe tortures after their arrest in 2009. In 2015, Moqiseh judge sentenced these seven political prisoners to death.
